As we approach Christmas and the New Year, I find myself growing increasingly excited about the possibilities it will bring. While I do have a lot of unanswered questions (as I discuss in Conquering Fear: Embracing the Unknown), I have been able to develop a more positive outlook on the possibilities it could hold. Rather than being a thing of dread, it is a beacon of exciting things to come. 

Some of those things to come are going to affect this blog. Changes are imminent!!

One thing that has been a barrier to my writing consistently on this page is that I didn’t have a clear idea of what I wanted to do, where I wanted to take it, and the audience I wanted to reach. I was jumping from thing to thing, subject to subject, with no real direction. 

That stops now!

While I will still have moments where I stray from what I want this blog to represent, I am going to bring it back to what my original idea was and focus more consistently and more regularly on that.

This blog’s purpose: Bringing positivity and hope to people who need it most. 

This year has been a struggle for me, but I know I am not the only one in life struggling, and I know I have tools and resources that others just do not have. Why then, don’t I share those tools and resources with the people who need them most? And why not use the writing and storytelling skills I have to make the lessons I want to teach fun and playful, where I can? The page is Dare2Play after all. 

The second thing that is coming is a more consistent blogging schedule. 

I have been writing as I have felt like it. That works when I am not trying to gain a consistent following. It doesn’t work as I decide I want to take this blog more seriously and tie it into other endeavors I am going to be pursuing to support this blog. My goal then is to post once a week on Wednesdays.

I am going to be taking time over the weekends and when I can write to keep up posts, schedule them out ahead of time, and spend more time on the quality of the posts overall. I will have special posts that drop on days aside from Wednesday, but unless told otherwise, expect a post every Wednesday starting in the new year. With that being said, one special post is coming to commence the new year and kick off the new look and direction this blog is going to take. 

January 3, 2026, my very first short story shared with the general public will be dropping on this page. The story of my why behind wanting to do this blog, and the why behind this year’s struggles and my struggles for the future. 

It will not represent most of what my future blogs are going to look like, being a short story after all, but it’s a special day (read it to find out why), and so I wanted to do something special and big for it. 

The third change that is coming, and probably one of my more exciting things, is going to be my trip into the world of podcasting!! 

Yes, you read that right, a sister podcast and channel are coming to support this blog! Look for more information on where to listen after the new year, as I am still getting things set up and solidified. But no worries, it is coming! It is going to happen, and I am so very excited for it. 

With that, I am looking forward to the new year! I hope you all have things to look forward to coming into the new year yourselves!
